Website Development for TOC

The Oxford Collection

This luxury five-star hotel group has a clear goal: to keep expanding its audience and turning lookers into bookers year after year.

Here’s how we’ve helped Oxford’s most successful independent hotel & restaurant group do exactly that through continuous web design and development.

Overview

Since 2011, we have guided The Oxford Collection through three distinct generations of web presence.

We began with separate desktop and mobile sites before migrating to an eight-site multisite network that showcased signature rooms and hosted the Mogford Short Story Prize. Most recently, in 2024, we consolidated those eight sites into six standalone WordPress installations—five for each venue, plus a group hub—connected via the REST API.

This move replaced a headless Strattic build while continuing to deliver fast performance, simple editing and greater resilience while preserving the content-sharing benefits the team values.

Throughout this journey, we have added and retired features as needed and consistently kept every site secure, quick and on-brand.

Services

The Oxford Collection entrusts us with many of their digital requirements, including:

  • Digital strategy
  • Website design
  • Website development
  • eCommerce
  • Email marketing

Approach

We work hand-in-hand with the client, releasing incremental improvements each year so they stay ahead of local competitors, tell their story with flair and respond swiftly to guest expectations.

The common thread is WordPress: familiar to the in-house team, yet endlessly extensible. Our builds emphasise clean code, intuitive editing and integrations that minimise manual effort — from synchronised content across venues to automated list-building in Hubspot.

Results

Over the course of our relationship, online revenue has grown by more than 30%, while mobile bookings have surged by 185% — comfortably outpacing industry trends. Email campaigns now achieve open and click-through rates more than double the hospitality benchmark.

The latest rebuild has also cut average load times by 45 per cent, achieved fully “green” Core Web Vitals and maintained 99.99 per cent uptime, ensuring the group’s digital presence is as polished and reliable as its guest experience.
