New Site for Wells Cathedral

Tuesday, February 1st, 2011

Another site launched in the last week was for Wells Cathedral – the beautiful cathedral in the smallest city in England. In terms of number of pages, this seems like one of the biggest sites we’ve launched and it has been a big task for them to gather all the content for going live. We have just launched at phase 2 and have lots more to add but it is great to have the new site up for all to see.

Launch of Magnetic Junction

Wednesday, August 4th, 2010

We’ve been busy with lots of new projects lately. Here is another we’ve just launched – Magnetic Junction is a new site launched by Will Ross. He and his team aim to inspire, guide and advise on adventure travel through their site. Hopefully, over time, it will develop into a great resource for like-minded travelers.

Orkestra Del Sol at Fringe by the Sea

Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

So we’re sponsoring the Orkestra Del Sol gig at Fringe by the Sea and very proud to be doing so. I am really hoping to get some tickets as they look like they are so much fun to see them play live. Check out their Flickr sets too – their live outdoor set is so interesting to look through all the colourful paces they have performed. Get tickets to their gig on Sunday 15th August at Fringe by the Sea gig here .

New Site Launch: MOOT

Monday, March 29th, 2010

We’ve had a very busy month at IfLooksCouldKill so our website is on the back burner at the moment. However, one new site we launched last week was for a church community based in London who go by the name of MOOT. They are a creative bunch of people to work with and it was fun to do some small illustrations for the site too. Take a look here or read about the project here.

Happy New Year

Tuesday, January 5th, 2010

Well it’s back to work today at ILCK and there is plenty to be getting on with but I just wanted to share visual treats from my Christmas holidays.

First up was a mad dash visit to the new Anthropologie store in London, amid a family trip to see Paul McCartney at the O2. Having heard lots about it and seen plenty pictures, I thought as I approached it I may be disappointed and a little embarrassed at dragging 4 others through the crowds on the 22nd December but fortunately, they were as impressed as I was. Here’s a picture of some of my favorite bits.

My other highlights were some presents from my husband – the first was a part completed challenge I had suggested to him for my Christmas – this hand made tea cup chandelier, I saw over at Domestic Construction. It is well on track, thanks to a local glaziers who cut out the bottoms of the cups to allow the light fixtures to fit through, and I can’t wait for that to be up in our hallway.

The other gift that I am so pleased with is my big Charley Harper ‘An Illustrated Life’ book. After browsing through this in Borders some months back, I was gutted that I had not been faster in trying to get one in it’s closing down sale as I figured that was my only chance of getting one. Little did I know there was a smaller version (that some say is actually better print quality) and that Dan had bought me one. It is a real joy to look through the many illustrations from such a  hard working man. One of my favorite quotes from Charley Harper on his style of illustration, “I do not count the feathers but I do count the wings”. Have a look at some more of his work here.

Massive ILK Industries Sale Now On!

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

So this is it. We’ve been working our fingers and mouses to the bone working on some websites over at IfLooksCouldKill over the past 8 months, and now we’re clearing our shelves for 2010.

So we’re offering EVERYTHING for £5. And free postage and packing on orders offer £20.

Now, this is the chance to clean up on some early Christmas presents, then i don’t know what is. Its probably cold enough to wear 4 teeshirts at once at the moment anyway! why not make those organic or sweatshop free tees, limited edition prints that will never be seen again on the web.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to say thanks to all of you who have bought over the past few years. Its been fun, and we’re excited about what is going to come into this space in the future…

We’re also paying tribute to Jules who designed all of our stuff has now moved home to Brighton but you can continue to keep up with her on her fantastic blog right here.

My husband – Dan Lyth, releases his first Christmas album today. Four of his own songs and two covers of carols – one in Latin!

You can read a review by Craig Rennie here.

You can listen to one track and buy the cd here.

In the mean time, here is a video of the letter press process with a medley of the Christmas album over the top. Enjoy!

Oh no he isn’t! Oh yes he is! Video available (with single download)

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Dan Lyth‘s single ‘Oh no he isn’t! Oh yes he is!’ is out today. I actually had very little to do with it, except from drawing shapes for the swirly shapes on the hand made miniature stage and the onbody artwork.

The video is shot on several cine films using a super 8 camera. Dan and Colin Grant worked on the video early last year in the freezing cold for hours. Our neighbors even called the police on them at one point due to all the clothes changes in the alley behind our house. Fair enough, I suppose. Anyway, a novelty to see a piece of super 8 footage any day, and this is just the video.

The single download bundle includes:

the single track, the super 8 video (exclusive), live track ‘When we got there’ and a remix of the single – all for £1.50 which seems to be a pretty good deal.

You can buy them all here.

Last night I was at BBC Scotland as part of my husband’s band playing live on Vic Galloway’s Introducing session. It was a great experience and we think it sounded pretty good. You can hear a bit more about the session on Dan’s blog and you can listen live on Vic’s site here.
