I think that these illustrations from Woop Studios are so imaginatively rendered. It seems a slightly different style for each animal and the colour palette seems so sensitive to each animal’s characteristics that they feel quite real to me. I love them all but these are some of my favourites.

I would love to see this installation, Leviathan by Anish Kapoor at the stunning Grand Palais in Paris. The contrast of the modern PVC structure with the Victorian architecture, I think, looks so good. I saw Marsayas at the Tate Modern in London and touched it and got into trouble, I would LOVE to walk through this one, even better that just walking around this massive structure.

This is incredible. As an illustration it would be impressive – but as a quilt! It’s fascinating looking at the detail in the images depicting ‘social reality’ – each part executed faultlessly. “Soft Cover” (200 x 250 cm) is made up of 270 illustrations, by Katrin Rodegast.

Genius photography project titled ‘Back to the Future’ by Irina Werning. At uni for photography projects, there were a couple of times that I ended up using, in some way, a childhood photograph but this is the best / funniest / creepiest take on it I’ve seen.

When I was in Morocco in September last year the tile work was definitely the most impressive thing everywhere we went. The creativity of the patterns, the use of colour and the intricacy of the work involved was so inspiring.
The only souvenir worth mentioning that I returned with from Morocco were 8 tiles for a future small toilet sink, which I hope I’ll get to use. Lately I’ve noticed lots of stencils and tiles influenced by Moorish designs that mean a trip there isn’t necessarily required.

(Clockwise) 1. From Heath Ceramics range of ‘Dwell Patterns’, I saw a lot of this diamond design that can look like steps and cubes not only in Morocco but also in the Alcazar in Seville 2. The same sort of step design here at Vangelis Petrakis 3. Moroccan tile stencils from the Royal Design Studio 4. Zillij tiles and other Moroccan furnishings from the Saint Tropez Boutique.

(Clockwise) 1. Stunning tiles from Popham Design 2+3. Stencils from Royal Design Studio 4. Seen at Oh Joy!

The Norwegian government started in 2005 to create viewing platforms and spaces for visitors to appreciate the scenery as they drive through the country. The National Tourist Route site says ,”Bold architecture placed in magnificent natural scenery gives the attraction its special character.” and it seems they have done a beautiful job.
Just one more reason to visit the beautiful country.

An upcoming project has made me take an interest in architecture, something I know little about but I’m enjoying researching very much. This primary school in Denmark would be so much fun to attend, I would possibly consider going back to school or training as a teacher for this.

Moodboards are a great help when I need to see all the things that are inspiring me on one page. It also helps me edit as I collate the images , I discard the ones that don’t ‘fit’. Often I find them encouraging as the finished board looks more together than I felt my thoughts were.
I am very thankful that in the next month or so, we are replacing our damp kitchen and I was looking through my kitchen tags – and I found there was little need for a moodboard other than affirming the choices we’ve made…
I’ve made a number of personal moodboards. The earliest was from a couple of years ago when my head was spinning with ideas for moving into our 1st ‘bought’ flat, I have deviated slightly but the current mood is not far off…
A more recent one was to help my sister plan her wedding this coming August…
And lastly, some pages from moodboards to help me try and style friends Kid Adrift…
