Our team

ILCK are web architects.

A small evenly balanced team of Designers and Developers who consult with our clients to help them create better businesses using the web. We’re increasingly focusing in on how we can help projects succeed, rather than just designing to a brief. If you’re looking for people who can make your business idea work, you’ve come to the right place!

Colin Hewitt

Colin is passionate about the development of web applications, with a specific focus on the business case and user feedback.

Just like Face from the A-Team, Colin loves seeing a plan come together. He loves a challenge and, as well as getting involved with project strategy, user experience and interface design, with a particular focus on web apps for ILCK’s clients.

What do you love about what you do?

I love the freedom of being able to do whatever seems right! Getting to work with great people, and having some exposure to an amazing variety of business ideas. I love systems, so a lot of what I do is working on our systems, helping things run as smoothly as they can.

What’s the best part of your day?

The walk home through the meadows in the summer. Clearing my inbox ranks up there too.

How do you fit in the ILCK team?

I support our Creative Director Sarah, who has taken on the management of ILCK to enable me to concentrate on Float.

Where do you go for inspiration?

I find blogs like Signals vs Noise, David Hieatt (from howies) and Seth Godin pretty inspiring, also Fail blog and Ted talks work well for me too.

Get things done or Make things happen?

That is the question. Ideally working out this balance sums up my day.

Favourite places of the world to visit?

I love the west coast of America. Have some great friends in LA, San Francisco and Vancouver. Also the North Coast of Ireland. Portstewart and Donegal rank up there when the sun shines.

One thing that nobody knows about you (that may or may not be true)

I used to be the drummer in Guns N’ Roses

5 things you can’t live without on the web

Evernote, FreeAgent, Dropbox, Hot Gloo and Pivotal Tracker

One invention that hasn’t been invented yet that you wish would hurry up and be invented?

A snooze button for kids.
