We were really excited when Canongate asked us to develop a new website for the Booker winning prize Life of Pi by Yann Martel. It’s one of those books that you might have read back in the 90′s (I did) but it’s time to get yourself a copy, signup and get reading. They have brought out a new publication with a fresh new cover and to coincide with the relaunch they decided to create the ambitious task of getting 31,415 readers to sign up and read the book during the month of August. You might have noticed, that’s not some random figure but actually the value of Pi. That will make it the worlds biggest readalong. If you signup, you will get weekly emails with questions, themes and updates to help you get the most out of the book.
We created a site that was really easy for Canongate to update and add lots of reader contributions. It also needed to have a number counter so everyone can see how well they’re doing readers wise. And check out the facebook style wall on the home page.
So have a look, sign up (last look there was 53 signups) and let us know what you think.
